Racing Classes

SKA sanctions seven classes spanning all ages and experience levels — from first-time drivers to seasoned competitors. Ages shown are indicative; refer to the current SKA Rulebook for confirmed eligibility.

General Rules & Notes — All Classes

  • All competitors must hold a current Speedway Australia racing licence before entering any sanctioned event.

  • An approved full-face helmet (rated to Snell SA or equivalent) is mandatory in all classes.

  • Racing overalls, gloves, neck brace and appropriate footwear are required at all times on track.

  • Karts must pass technical scrutineering before each race meeting — your club scrutineer will guide you.

  • Minimum age requirements apply at the time of the first race meeting in the season.

  • Weight minimums include driver and kart — refer to the SKA Rulebook for class-specific requirements.
